Futaba and Hitec Most Futaba sets have a 6 pin DIN socket. The link between pins 4 and 5 powers up the coder section only with the transmitter switch off. Hence there is no need to remove the crystal/ tx module while using FMS.Note: connections viewed looking at transmitter or behind plug. Ground connects to metal shield.
Futaba 9CAP I can now supply these connectors. Please click F9C. The link powers the coder with the main switch off so there is no need to remove the crystal/ tx module when using FMS.Note: connections viewed looking at transmitter or behind plug.
JR
JR use a 3.5mm mono jack plug. Inserting the plug turns the coder section only on (with the transmitter switch off). Hence there is no need to remove the crystal/ tx module while using FMS. Note the smaller signal used by JR which requires different interface input circuitry.
Sanwa VG400, VG6P This uses a 6 pin DIN socket similar to Futaba - but different connections!Note: connections viewed looking at transmitter or behind plug. Ground connects to metal shield.
Sanwa RD6000, VG600 and Airtronics This works for the RD6000. Note that with some systems (not mine) you must set the signal to inverted. Also signal voltage is 3v so will not reliably trigger logic inputs directly.Note: connections viewed looking at transmitter or behind plug.
MPX
The socket here is an 8 pin DIN. However a standard 180° 5 pin DIN fits and has all the pins required. The connection between pins 5 and 3 powers up the coder only with the transmitter switch off. Hence there is no need to remove the crystal/ tx module while using FMS.Note: connections viewed looking at transmitter or behind plug.
FC18Believed to also be the same for FC16.
| ||
F14
Same socket as the FC18 above but different orientation.

Digifleet
This works for the Omega range transmitters. Earlier transmitters require modification to add the pin 4 connection.Remove the crystal while using FMS. Note: connections viewed looking at transmitter or behind plug.
Old Futaba Old Futaba 5 pin DIN socket. Don't forget to remove the crystal/ tx module while using FMS.Note: connections viewed looking at transmitter or behind plug. |
Happy flying.
